"Heading to Winter"

Inspiration and Design: View subject
It was mid-day in late November at Custer State Park, South Dakota.  The light was strong and cool.  The grass was mostly frozen and light brown, and the value contrast between the ground and the trees was stark.  The temperature hinted of winter.  In the dicitionary, roam means to move about aimlessly or without any destination, often in search of food.  Roam describes bison movement well.  Looking at the frozen, brown fields of the park, it was difficult to envision where the buffalo were going to find food.  The only certain destination was winter.
